PURCHASES

AMMUNITION, POWDERS, PERCUSSION CAPS AND PRIMERS

Ammunition purchases only: Customers must provide a valid Firearms Licence (PAL) number at time of order. Customers must provide day and evening telephone numbers.

Powders and primers cannot ship by air. Ammunition, powders, percussion caps and primers are considered hazardous materials and only certain carriers will transport them. If you are ordering any of these items, we will ship them to you, at your cost, by the most economical carrier, since Canada Post will not accept hazardous materials for shipment. Some shipping restrictions will apply. Due to courier restrictions, dangerous goods orders must be paid in full prior to shipment. Please make sure, when ordering any of these items, that you provide us with a street or drop-off address as well as daytime and evening phone numbers.

 

FIREARMS ACQUISITION

At time of order Purchasers must provide:

Full name as shown on your licence

A valid Possession Acquisition Licence # (PAL)

Date of birth

Place of birth (city/town and province/territory)

Mailing address

Physical residence address (house number, land location, colour)

Day and evening telephone numbers 

Firearm(s) will be shipped once the transfer is complete. Purchasers of handguns must have a firearms licence that includes “restricted” status. Because Federal Regulations only allow certain couriers and carriers to transport handguns, all orders (including basic and additional shipping charges where applicable) must be paid in full before shipment. 

 

SPECIAL ORDER MERCHANDISE

Special Order merchandise (product not normally carried by us and ordered-in specifically for you) may not be returned under any circumstances - all Special Orders are Final Sale

 

SHIPPING AND HANDLING 

GENERAL

Most items that are available from stock will be shipped within two (2) business days of receiving your order. Special shipping requests will be followed whenever possible.  For rates please see our Handling Rate chart

Additional shipping and handling charges will apply for shipments of dangerous goods, decoys, other oversize items, and orders shipping to remote/air locations. Shipping method may be restricted or surcharged by weight, content, size or destination. Where surcharges are imposed, they will be added to your invoice. Unless you specify otherwise, we will choose the carrier and promptly ship your order.

 

 

AIR STAGE AND REMOTE LOCATIONS 

There are additional charges on shipments to certain northern or remote locations. Where these extra charges are in effect, we will add a surcharge to your invoice. Sorry, dangerous goods such as live ammunition, powders and primers cannot ship by air.

RETURNS and EXCHANGES

ALL RETURNS REQUIRE A RETURN AUTHORIZATION – contact us for a return authorization before shipping an item.

FIREARMS are NOT returnable without prior approval – if defective we will assist you in returning the item to the manufacturer for repair and/or warranty determination.

FOR YOUR HEALTH & SAFETY

For health and safety reasons, the following items may not be returned for exchange or refund: 

 

  • Ammunition, Powder, Primers, Caps
  • Base Layers/Underwear
  • Bear Spray and Dog Repellents
  • Food Processing Equipment
  • Mouth Blown Calls
  • Sleeping Bags & Mattresses
  • Socks
  • Note: Open-package books, videos and software may not be returned.

 

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • With the exception of the above-listed merchandise, to return products for refund or exchange, please do so within 30 days of receiving your product(s) - sorry, no returns or exchanges beyond 30 days.
  • Open-package books, videos and software may not be returned unless defective.  If defective, the item must be returned within 30 days for a replacement only, identical-item, exchange.  No refund or substitution will be available.
  • FIREARMS - All returns and exchanges of firearms must have prior approval. If discharged, the firearm remains the property of the customer and any issues must be resolved by the manufacturer or a factory-approved warranty depot. Abuse, incorrect use, or subjecting the firearm to extreme conditions may invalidate the warranty; refund or exchange is at the sole discretion of the manufacturer and Barton’s Big Country Outdoor Superstore
  • SPECIAL ORDER MERCHANDISE - Special Order merchandise (product not normally carried by us and ordered-in specifically for you) may not be returned under any circumstances - FINAL SALE.

 

 

 RETURN PROCEDURE

1.        Pack the merchandise to be returned in the original carton(s) along with any literature or manuals.

2.        In a brief letter, please let us know whether you wish a refund or to exchange the product.  Include a copy of your invoice.  Shipping and handling charges are not refundable except where we are responsible for a shipping error.

3.        Wrap the package to avoid any damages; insure and prepay the shipping charges. Ship to us via basic Canada Post unless Big Country Outdoor Superstore approves an alternate carrier.  Sorry, C.O.D. returns are not accepted.
